Emma Harling (b.1989) is a textile and surface designer from Gothenburg, Sweden.

Initially trained as a printmaker, she holds a BA in Art History with a minor in Textile Technology from Uppsala University, and is currently based in New York City.

Emma is known for her distinctive patterns, sense for quality and intuitive exploration of color. She collages references from art history with her own everyday observations and utilizes manual artwork creation techniques in order to create artistic collections of functionality and meaning. Her main interest centers around everyday applications of art and ornament, and sees the versatility of artists like Sophie Taeuber-Arp, Sonia Delaunay, and Nathalie du Pasquier as a major influence.

Emma welcomes commissions within creative direction, trend forecasting,  design, and sourcing. Please get in touch if you would like to say hello or inquire about a project.
